For nearly 70 years the Soviet Empire extended its influence across Europe and beyond, building a mighty industrial and ideological network capable of supporting its cold war efforts. Yet, since the fall of the Berlin wall, much of that network has been left to rot, either through wilful neglect or by the simple economic realities that followed the fall of the communist superstate.

This project explores these modern ruins, often surrounded by stunning scenery and holding memories of a warmer past.
